This Fuumuui watercolor sketchbook from my kit is a 4 × 6 in hardcover of cotton paper, about postcard size. I have not painted in it on camera or written my own verdict on it yet, so this page sets out what Fuumuui states about the paper and binding, and what my photo of it shows, with no claims of my own about how it performs. What Fuumuui says about the paper
According to the Amazon listing, the sketchbook holds 24 sheets of 140 lb (300 gsm) cold-pressed cotton paper, and Fuumuui’s product page and the paper band on the cover call it 100% cotton with a medium texture. The maker’s other paper claims:
- Acid-freethe listing says finished work stays vibrant over time without turning yellow or fading under normal use and storage.
- Cylinder-mold paperthe listing says the cold-pressed sheets are made on a cylinder mold that spreads the cotton fibers evenly, so the surface resists scratching and erasing under several layers of color, masking fluid and tape, and the sheet relaxes evenly when wet.
- Mediathe listing names wet and dry media, including gouache, acrylics, inks and sketching; the product page adds colored pencils, markers and mixed media.
Fuumuui’s product page also says the sheets are pressed thick enough to resist warping and bleeding under several layers or wet techniques. Weight in gsm and pounds is explained in my guide’s paper weight section, and cold press in its tooth and surface section.
Binding, band and pocket (maker claims)
The listing describes micro-perforated pages that let the book open completely and lay flat, and that tear out without harming a finished painting if you want to frame it. Fuumuui’s product page calls the binding lay-flat and adds an elastic band that keeps the book shut and, it says, can hold a few brushes or small tools, plus a pocket inside the cover for small watercolor pans, postcards or other tiny tools.
The listing presents the 4 × 6 in (10.16 × 15.24 cm) size as small enough for a bag or a pocket, for outdoor painting, travel and quick sketches. Fuumuui’s product page says it is easy to hold in one hand.
What my photo shows
My photo above shows the sketchbook closed, in my hand, in front of my marker shelves:

Where it fits
My sketchbook guide points watercolor to paper of around 300 gsm, ideally 100% cotton, which is what Fuumuui lists for this book. Hardbound books and how they open are covered in its binding section.
