Fuumuui’s CREAMORA set is a 24-color opaque watercolor in muted gray tones, sold as semi-solid paint in a white case with a swatch card. I own the set and filmed its unboxing, but I have not written my verdict yet. So this write-up sets out what Fuumuui says about the paint, what my Short shows on screen, and where it sits next to the other paint in my kit and my beginner watercolor guide.
The maker claims come from the Amazon listing and Fuumuui’s own product page, both read October 27, 2026. See how I review.
What my unboxing Short shows
My one-minute unboxing Short above (the clip is also on my Instagram) runs like this:
- 0:00–0:02it opens on the finished sketchbook spread, a blue-gray dusk sky with purple clouds and a black electricity pylon, under the title card “Unboxing Fuumuui Solid Watercolor Opaque”.
- 0:04–0:06a kraft mailer opens onto a box sleeve printed “Solid watercolor OPAQUE”.
- 0:08–0:16the white case’s lid lifts to show 24 pans in four rows of six, and a printed swatch card with 24 labelled boxes comes out of the lid.
- 0:18–0:20every box on the card is filled with a brushed swatch while the card sits in the lid.
- 0:22–0:30a small landscape sketchbook opens, and a flat brush lays a blue-gray sky with a pink band low across the spread.
- 0:32–0:46purple and pink cloud banks build up over the sky, then get white edges.
- 0:48–0:54fine black lines add the pylon, power lines and a few birds.
- 0:56–0:58the finished spread turns to the camera, and the sketchbook closes with its elastic band.
Eight gray families, three tones each
The swatch card in the lid (in my photo above) names all 24 colors: Red, Brown, Green, Blue, Yellow, Warm, Purple and Cold Gray, each in a light, middle and dark tone numbered 1 to 3. The listing calls it a curated ash-neutral palette of soft, desaturated pink, purple, green, blue and earth grays, made for realistic landscapes and soft gradients. Fuumuui’s site pitches the set for moody landscapes, expressive illustration and tonal studies. The maker’s site also lists other 24-color CREAMORA palettes, such as Earthy Color, so check that the listing says Muted Gray if this is the palette you want.
Opaque semi-solid paint: what the maker claims
In Fuumuui’s words, each pigment is finely milled into a smooth, creamy, semi-moist paint that activates with a little water. The colors are said to cover strongly, so a new layer does not show through or stain the paper underneath, and areas can be adjusted or repainted without muddying. More water makes the paint more transparent. The listing sums it up as gouache-like opacity with traditional watercolor blendability, for wet-on-wet washes, layered shading, fine details and smooth gradients.
That puts CREAMORA between the transparent pans and tubes in my watercolor guide and true gouache. If you are weighing it against gouache, my beginner gouache guide and HIMI Jelly Gouache review cover how opaque water-based paint behaves with more or less water, and opaque watercolor vs gouache sets the two side by side.
Case, swatch card and refills (maker specs)
Per the listing, the set comes with the swatch card for quick reference and a large mixing tray, so you need no extra palette for sketching outdoors. Each color sits in its own separate slot that is easy to take out and refill, and Fuumuui’s site sells 10 ml refills of the muted colors; that page gives the set’s own pans as 3 ml each.
The listing calls the formula non-toxic and acid-free, meeting ASTM D-4236 and EN71. It asks you to store the set below 40 °C (104 °F) so the pigment does not soften, and says slight settling after long storage is normal: remix before use. Fuumuui recommends 100% cotton watercolor paper and soft synthetic or natural-hair brushes; see paper matters more than paint and my sketchbook guide.
Other paint sets in my kit
The table below sets CREAMORA beside three other paint sets from my kit. From the same maker, the Fuumuui travel sketchbook set pairs 24 colors with a 300 gsm cotton sketchbook. The Languo mini watercolor 16 is a small classic-color set. For fully opaque, water-based paint, there is the 48-color HIMI Twin Cup Jelly Gouache I use for most of my paintings. For a traditional transparent tube set, start with the Winsor & Newton Cotman 20-tube set.
